Hi,
I'm looking for a TTL serial (4-pin DB9) to USB adapter but not sure which, if any, will work with the HP 95LX's 16450 UART, i.e. no buffer.

What is the best solution?  (apart from put it in a museum!)  Smiley

Thank you in anticipation,

Try a DB9-USB Module:

Check mouser  or digikey for stock.

It's RS-232 and you said you were looking for TTL.

Hi Jan,
Please forgive the inexactitude of my request. Having seen what our Scottish friends at  FTDI have to provide, their offer seems too good to miss. Also, I'm just across the border if required to give Glasgow a bloody nose!

Just joking Smiley

Combining this...
http://www.dealextreme.com/p/usb-to-rs232-serial-port-adapter-transparent-green-24512
and this...
http://www.dealextreme.com/p/rs232-serial-port-express-card-adapter-blue-black-silver-101467
costs less ($6.60/£4.17) than the FTDI device ($28/£17.75).

Hi, just a quick note to say thank you for everyone's help.

Finally connected using the FTDI USB-to-Serial Port, running Kermit 95 on Windows 7. A 20 year upgrade for the HP 95LX!
